Apollo Green Energy proposes to invest Rs 4,500 crore in solar projects in Odisha

In a significant move towards bolstering renewable energy infrastructure, Apollo Green Energy Ltd has announced a proposed investment of ₹4,500 crore to develop 1,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power capacity across various districts in Odisha. This initiative is expected to generate approximately 3,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to the state's economic growth.

The proposal was presented during a high-level meeting chaired by Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister, KV Singh Deo. Apollo Green Energy's plans include the integration of battery energy storage systems to manage surplus electricity, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply.

Currently, the company is constructing a 54 MW solar power project in Ganjam district, with an investment of ₹151 crore. This project serves as a precursor to the larger investment plan, showcasing Apollo Green Energy's commitment to expanding its footprint in the state's renewable energy sector.

Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo emphasized the state's dedication to achieving a clean and green India, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. He assured full support from the state government to facilitate the successful implementation of Apollo Green Energy's projects.

This substantial investment aligns with Odisha's broader strategy to attract high-impact projects in the renewable energy sector, positioning the state as a leader in sustainable development.
