Modern Bazaar – Brand Overview
Modern Bazaar began its journey in 1971, when Late Shri Vishwant Kumar introduced one of India’s earliest supermarket experiences in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. At a time when access to global food products was limited, the store stood out for bringing international flavours and premium groceries under one roof.
Over the years, the brand has grown into a well-recognized name across Delhi NCR, known for its wide selection of everyday essentials as well as specialty and imported foods. Blending convenience with quality, Modern Bazaar continues to serve a loyal and expanding customer base.
Kunaal Kumar, who became part of the business in 1991, has played a key role in shaping its modern identity. In 2004, the company faced a major setback when a fire destroyed its Basant Lok outlet. Instead of slowing down, the incident became a turning point—leading to a stronger, more customer-focused approach and renewed energy in rebuilding the brand.
Today, Modern Bazaar operates 10 fully owned stores across Delhi and Gurgaon. Each outlet is directly managed to maintain consistent service, product quality, and customer experience. With thoughtfully located stores and reliable home delivery services, the brand continues to evolve while staying rooted in its commitment to excellence and trust.
