Jio IPO 2026: Price Band, Lot Size, GMP, Allotment Date and How to Check Allotment Status
The Jio IPO opens for bidding on 21 October 2026, and at up to ₹30,213 crore it is set to be one of the largest public issues India has seen. Jio Platforms, the Reliance Industries company behind the Jio mobile network and its digital services, is selling only new shares, with no existing shareholder cashing out. For most investors the questions are practical. How much does one application need, when is the allotment decided and how do you check whether you got shares? And how much weight should you give the grey market premium quoted every day? This guide answers each of those, using the figures in the company's red herring prospectus dated 14 October 2026, and explains the risks to weigh before you bid.
Key Takeaways
- Dates: Bidding is open from 21 to 23 October 2026, with allotment expected on 26 October and listing on BSE and NSE on 28 October.
- Price and lot: The price band is ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share, and one lot of 12 shares costs ₹13,428 at the upper end.
- Size: The issue is a fresh issue of up to 27 crore shares, worth about ₹30,213 crore at the upper price.
- Quotas: Eligible Reliance Industries shareholders and Jio employees have separate reservation portions, and employees get a ₹54 per share discount.
- GMP is unofficial: Grey market premium quotes are unregulated and have swung widely in October, so they are not a reliable guide to listing price.
- Allotment check: You can check Jio IPO allotment status on the KFintech registrar site, the BSE and NSE websites or your broker's app.

How the issue is split between investor categories
After the employee and shareholder reservations, the net issue is reported to be split three ways. Qualified institutional buyers get not more than 50 percent, retail individual investors not less than 35 percent and non-institutional investors not less than 15 percent. Eligible Reliance Industries shareholders have a reservation of up to ₹2,500 crore and can bid up to ₹2 lakh in that portion. Employees have a reservation of up to ₹500 crore. Check the record date for shareholder eligibility in the prospectus before you rely on the shareholder quota.
What does Jio Platforms do?
Jio Platforms owns Reliance Jio Infocomm, India's largest mobile network by subscribers, along with digital businesses in home broadband, enterprise connectivity, apps and cloud services. Reliance Industries is the parent, and Meta and Google became minority shareholders in 2020.
Jio Platforms financials in the offer document
| Metric | FY25 | FY26 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | ₹1,28,218 crore | ₹1,46,885 crore | Up about 14.6 percent |
| Profit after tax | – | ₹30,049 crore | Up about 15 percent |
Source: Jio Platforms offer document, as reported. Active subscribers stood at 524.4 million on 31 March 2026.
Revenue grew about 14.6 percent in FY26. Growth from here depends mainly on tariff increases and on monetising 5G, home broadband and enterprise services, since adding new mobile users gets harder as the market matures.
Jio IPO GMP: what the grey market premium tells you
GMP, or grey market premium, is the price above the issue price at which traders informally agree to buy IPO shares before they list. It is not traded on any exchange and is not regulated by SEBI.
Jio IPO GMP in October 2026
Quotes for the Jio IPO GMP have moved sharply through October. On 16 October we reported a range of ₹210 to ₹218 per share, up more than 20 percent in a week. Quotes reported over 18 and 19 October have ranged even more widely, from roughly ₹156 to ₹251 depending on who is quoting. For the week-by-week movement, see our report on how the Jio Platforms grey premium climbed over 20 percent in a week.
Why GMP is not a forecast
A ₹200 GMP on a ₹1,119 issue price would suggest a listing around ₹1,319, but that arithmetic carries little weight. Grey market quotes come from a small, informal pool of traders, change daily with market mood and can disappear within hours of a weak market. A large issue like this one also has a much bigger supply of shares on listing day than the grey market trades. Treat the Jio IPO GMP as a sentiment reading, not a price you can count on.
Jio IPO allotment date and what happens next
The basis of allotment is expected on Monday, 26 October 2026. The registrar, KFin Technologies, matches valid bids with the shares available in each category.
How retail allotment works when the issue is oversubscribed
If retail demand exceeds the retail portion, SEBI rules require the registrar to give as many retail applicants as possible one minimum lot each, chosen by a computerised lottery. Applying for more lots does not raise your chance of getting the first lot. Any shares left after one lot per winning applicant are then allotted proportionately.
When money is debited or released
If you are allotted shares, the blocked amount for those shares is debited from your bank account and the rest is released. If you get nothing, the full blocked amount is released, usually by 27 October. Shares are credited to your demat account before listing day.
How to check Jio IPO allotment status
You will need your PAN, your application number, or your demat account details. The application number appears in your broker's IPO order history or in the bank's confirmation message.
Method 1: Check on the KFintech registrar website
- Go to the official KFintech IPO status page at ipostatus.kfintech.com.
- Select "Jio Platforms Limited" from the list of issues once the allotment is live.
- Choose PAN, application number or demat account as the search option.
- Enter the details and the captcha, then submit.
- The page shows the number of shares applied for and allotted.
Method 2: Check on the BSE website
- Open the BSE application status page.
- Select "Equity" as the issue type and "Jio Platforms Limited" as the issue name.
- Enter your application number or PAN, complete the verification and search.
Method 3: Check on the NSE website
Use the NSE IPO bid verification page, select the issue and enter your PAN and application number.
Method 4: Check in your broker app or bank account
Most broker apps update the IPO order status after allotment. You can also check whether the blocked amount has been debited or released, and whether shares appear in your demat holdings from 27 October.
For more detail on each method, including what statuses such as "not allotted" or "rejected" mean, read our step-by-step guide on how to check IPO allotment status.
How to apply for the IPO
You apply through your broker's app or your bank's net banking using ASBA, which blocks the money in your account instead of debiting it. Enter your UPI ID, choose the number of lots, and bid at the cut-off price if you are a retail investor so your bid is valid at whatever final price is set. Approve the UPI mandate on your phone before the deadline your broker gives for 23 October, or the bid will not count. Only one application per PAN is allowed in each category, though eligible Reliance shareholders can also apply in the shareholder portion.
Risks to weigh before you bid
Listing below the issue price
Large issues add a big supply of shares on day one. Strong grey market quotes do not prevent a listing below ₹1,119 if markets fall during the week.
Debt and spectrum liabilities
Telecom operators carry large deferred spectrum payments and lease liabilities. Read the debt section of the prospectus, because these obligations affect future cash available to shareholders.
Tariffs and regulation
Earnings growth depends heavily on tariff increases, which are shaped by competition and by telecom regulation. A pause in tariff hikes would slow profit growth.
Valuation
At the upper band, you are paying a price that assumes continued growth. Compare the valuation in the prospectus with listed telecom peers before deciding.
Pre-IPO shares at We Grow Wealth
Some investors prefer to hold shares of companies before they list, through the unlisted market. Those holdings are locked in for 6 months from the date of IPO allotment if the company lists, under SEBI's ICDR Regulations. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Jio IPO price band and lot size?
The price band is ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share and the lot size is 12 shares. One lot costs ₹13,428 at the upper end of the band.
When is the Jio IPO allotment date?
The basis of allotment is expected on 26 October 2026, with refunds and demat credit on 27 October and listing on 28 October.
How can I check Jio IPO allotment status?
Check on the KFintech registrar site, the BSE or NSE websites, or your broker's app using your PAN or application number. The status is usually available from the evening of the allotment date.
What is the Jio IPO GMP today?
Grey market quotes reported in mid-October ranged from about ₹156 to ₹251 per share. GMP is unofficial and unregulated and changes daily, so it is not a reliable guide to the listing price.
Can Reliance shareholders apply in a separate quota?
Yes. Eligible Reliance Industries shareholders have a reservation of up to ₹2,500 crore and can bid up to ₹2 lakh in that portion. Check the record date in the prospectus to confirm eligibility.
Does applying for more lots increase my chance of allotment?
Not for the first lot. In an oversubscribed retail category, each successful applicant gets one minimum lot through a lottery, so several lots do not improve the odds of getting that first lot.
